Summer is finally here, but the table and chairs of my patio definitely needed some makeover! So, I thought to give them some a good restyling and I came up with a quick and easy outdoor decoration with acrylics!
As usually happens, I wanted to do some research forst, so I looked among DecoArt Americana paints and I was happy to find a specific paint for outdoors! 😊
I have neved used the Americana Decor Outdoor Living line, so I wanted to try! I also didn’t have too much time, so I decided to add an extra decor touch using a stencil… quick and easy, don’t you think?
I first cleaned the table and the chairs from any dust, spots or spider webs.
Since I wanted to have some contrast, I decided to apply 2 coats of wood stainer only on the table legs, waiting for them to dry well between one coat and the other.
Then I had to do my favorite (but needed) step 😊, and I mean I had to cover all areas I didn’t want to paint with the tape, in order to avoid those famous “accidental brush strokes” I usually tell you about.
Then, finally the fun began, because I applied Turquoise Sky paint on the main surface of my table. I used three coats, just to be sure… but even with two coats the coverage was perfect.
I used Frosted Glass for the chairs, this is a less vibrant color compared to the Turquoise Sky, but I think they looked good together.
Last but not the least, I added a stencil decoration here and there using Pewter (Americana Decor Metallics) that I already used some time ago for the textured decoration with stencils.
I was really happy of the final result! I think it gives a vibrant and colorful touch to the whole patio… I can feel the summer breeze already!
I hope this project can give you the right inspiration to create your own outdoor decoration with acrylics!
Let me know if you have any questions… I’ll be happy to help!
See you for the next project,
