Here I am with a new video! With this Decorative Painting tutorial, I want to share with you what I know about prepping, and I mean how to prepare the surface before painting to achieve a better result!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As some of you may already know, with Decorative Painting technique we can paint on many different surfaces and materials, we can paint on wood, on fabric, on metal, on canvas\u2026 so basically there\u2019s no surface that cannot be painted!
I love trying new techniques and using different surfaces. The surface I paint the most on is for sure wood, that I used for lots of designs, like all the \u201cThings for\u201d series: Fall,<\/a> Christmas,<\/a> Spring<\/a> and Summer.<\/a>
However, I also like painting on canvas, like I did with Winter wonder<\/a> or Summer memories.<\/a>
Sometimes I also painted on fabric, such as the projects for the little ones and their mommy: Hug me<\/a> e Always with you.<\/a>
Each material needs to be prepped in a different way, I mean, there are a couple of things we need to keep in mind according to the surface we are about to prep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this video I want to share with you what I have been learning during the years about the material I usually paint on.
According to the material we\u2019re about to paint on, there are different primers that can make our life much easier! Here, I know, there are different habits\u2026 some people use them, and some people don\u2019t \ud83d\ude0a!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talking about wood, I actually use the primer every time I paint, with some exceptions on super tiny surfaces such as pins or buttons. However, most of the times I prep my wood surface with the Multi Purpose Sealer<\/strong> by DecoArt Americana.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have to be honest with you, as usual \ud83d\ude0a, in fact when I began painting, I didn\u2019t use it. By the way, the very first time I tried I did a complete mess! I remember I didn\u2019t sand the surface properly (before and after the sealer), in fact base coating and floating my colors was really a nightmare!!!
Then I wanted to try it again, and it was a great idea because I could see the difference of my floats\u2026 and I have always been using it since then! \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n
