I guess this helps me in considering my things more\u2026 mine, besides the fact that I have another excuse to use and share all the creativity that\u2019s always knocking at my door! I had this wood organizer that hadn\u2019t been painted yet, so\u2026 it was the perfect excuse to do something creative again! In fact, I decided to make a textured decoration with stencils and acrylics!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I wanted to try some new products for some time, and I thought this was the right project to try the  <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Decor Metallics (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/decoart.com\/americana-decor\/metallics\/paint\" target=\"_blank\">DecoArt Americana D\u00e8cor Metallics<\/a> paints! Like other D\u00e9cor products, also the Decor Metallics paints are quite creamy and have a well coverage. Plus, they really \u201cstick\u201d to any surface, so you don\u2019t need to use a primer or to prep the surface. I actually used them also on plastic, and I can tell you these paints really work great also on the smoothest surfaces!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also decided to try the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Americana Decor Texture (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/decoart.com\/americana-decor\/texture\/paint\" target=\"_blank\">Americana Decor Texture<\/a> line and  and I have to admit\u2026 it was love at first sight, or love at first try if you want to!!!<br>As you have probably seen in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marikamorettidesigns.com\/en\/marik-artworks\/texture-painting\/\">Texture Painting<\/a> page, I like to use textures in my projects. I also did something similar in some of my Decorative Painting designs, where I have been able to come up with an interesting technique to create a textured background (see: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Welcome Spring, (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marikamorettidesigns.com\/project\/country-painting-welcome-spring\/\" target=\"_blank\">Welcome Spring,<\/a> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Summer Memories, (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marikamorettidesigns.com\/project\/country-painting-summer-memories\/\" target=\"_blank\">Summer Memories,<\/a> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Fall\u2026in love (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marikamorettidesigns.com\/project\/country-painting-fall-in-love\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fall\u2026in love<\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Winter Wonder (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marikamorettidesigns.com\/project\/country-painting-winter-wonder\/\" target=\"_blank\">Winter Wonder<\/a>). The D\u00e9cor Texture line is even more creamy, so that you can easily create many different textured effects!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"777\" src=\"https:\/\/www.marikamorettidesigns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/MarikaMorettiDesigns_Decorazione-organizer-intro-1024x777.jpeg\" alt=\"Textured decoration with stencils and acrylic paints\" class=\"wp-image-32349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.marikamorettidesigns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/MarikaMorettiDesigns_Decorazione-organizer-intro-980x743.jpeg 980w, https:\/\/www.marikamorettidesigns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/MarikaMorettiDesigns_Decorazione-organizer-intro-480x364.jpeg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">For this project I used:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ikea.com\/it\/it\/p\/moppe-minicassettiera-compensato-di-betulla-40216357\/\" target=\"_blank\">IKEA Moppe<\/a> organizer<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/decoart.com\/americana-decor\/metallics\/paint\" target=\"_blank\">Americana Decor Metallics<\/a> paint \u2013 Pewter<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/decoart.com\/americana-decor\/texture\/paint\" target=\"_blank\">Americana Decor Texture (Metallics)<\/a> paint \u2013 Rose Gold<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/shop.decoart.com\/mandala-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">DecoArt Mandala ASD26<\/a> stencil (12&#8243; x 12&#8243;)<\/li><li>wood stain<\/li><li>paper tape<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/dynastybrush.com\/blue-ice\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dynasty Blue Ice size 2\u201d<\/a> flat brush<\/li><li>palette knife<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I wanted my organizer to have a \u201csurprise\u201d effect, so I decided to cover with wood stain the sides and the inside area of each drawer.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>When dry, I forced myself to use some patience, and I covered all the areas I didn\u2019t want to paint leaving only the front panel of each drawer. If you have already read some of my articles, you probably know that this is absolutely not my favorite step, but it&#8217;s really something I suggest you do if you want to avoid those famous \u201caccidental\u201d paint brushes I already told you about! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then I laid down Pewter on the front side of the drawers and on the whole organizer. As I already mentioned, the D\u00e9cor line has a fantastic coverage, in fact I used two thin coats and it was pretty enough. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When dry, I put the drawers back in the organizer and I took my stencil. Looking at the size of the stencil and of the organizer, I decided not to place it in the center, because I would have had too much empty space around it, so I preferred to place it on the corners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I secured the stencil with some tape in the position I wanted, I took Rose Gold and I laid down the creamy color with the palette knife! Ok, well\u2026 you have to be a little careful here to evenly level the color without pressing too much otherwise the color will pass through the stencil and you will get a bit of a mess!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Important tip: when using the Decot Texture (or any texture in general), you have to keep in mind that it takes a little more to dry. So, you need to be careful not to touch the decoration you just made or to place the stencil on it if you want to use it again!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I hope you liked this project and that my suggestions
