Well it was awful! So, I decided I wanted to give it a new and fresh look and I thought it was a good idea to do a front door makeover with acrylics!<br>But, at that point I told to myself: what type of color should I choose? This is an outside door, so I need to find a durable type of color that will remain the same winter after winter, summer after summer\u2026 regardless of the weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I started making some research and I finally came up choosing the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/decoart.com\/americana-decor\/curb-appeal\/\" target=\"_blank\">DecoArt Americana Curb Appeal line<\/a>.<br>I am not sure you know it, but <strong>DecoArt<\/strong> doesn\u2019t only make awesome colors for Decorative Painting, but they also have great products for home-decor, furniture and, lucky me, for outdoor decoration.<br>Curb Appeal is perfect for refurbishing doors or shutters, or benches, or other things you have outside and that are exposed to weather conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 35%\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.marikamorettidesigns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/MarikaMorettiDesigns-Pittura-porta-materiale-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"Dipingere la porta di casa\" class=\"wp-image-32230\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">By the way, this product has an awesome, and I really mean AWESOME, coverage! I bought 2 bottles just to be sure, but actually one was absolutely enough for three coats. The color is smooth and makes no bubbles or brush marks. I used a 2\u201d Blue Ice Flat by Dynasty, but if it\u2019s easier for you, you can always use a roll (but I suggest a sponge roll in this case).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">What you need is: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>flat brush (I used the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/dynastybrush.com\/blue-ice\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dynasty Blue Ice<\/a> size 2\u201d)<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (apre in una nuova scheda)\" href=\"https:\/\/decoart.com\/americana-decor\/curb-appeal\/\" target=\"_blank\">DecoArt Americana Curb Appeal<\/a> paint (Village Green for me, but there are lots of gorgeous colors to pick)<\/li><li>water basin<\/li><li>sponge (just a regular sponge)<\/li><li>extremely fine sand paper<\/li><li>paper tape<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>First, you need to be a little patient\u2026 don\u2019t do like me\u2026 no rush\u2026 prepare everything! \ud83d\ude0a<br>Clean your door carefully, because, being an outside door, there will be some dust or spider web somewhere\u2026 If needed, also lightly sand the surface until smooth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then you need to cover with the tape all those areas you don\u2019t want to paint, such as door knob, walls around the door and so on\u2026 Yes, ok\u2026 I know, this takes time and is a really boring step, but I really recommend it, because when the real fun begins, it is really easy to brush a little further and paint the wall! Trust me\u2026 it may happen! \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When all the preparation is done, take some color and pour it in the basin (not all of it, otherwise it may dry) and start from the details of your door, if you have any.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:33% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.marikamorettidesigns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/MarikaMorettiDesigns-Pittura-porta-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"Dipingere la porta di casa\" class=\"wp-image-32234\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>I followed the instructions on the label, and I waited a couple of hours in between coats. However, the waiting time depends on humidity and temperature conditions you have outside.
